The term "superclub" is often used to describe large, high-profile nightclubs. The Hacienda, which was the most known nightclub in the world during the “Madchester” years of the late 1880s and early 1990s, is a good example of a superclub-style nightclub. Studio 54 in New York City and Annabel´s in London (both of which are now closed) were also early examples of superclubs.

“Slowly step away from the umbrella, please"
Vi møtte mannen som har tegnet Hovelogoen og figurene i programheftet. Ian Stephenson kan skryte av å være i samlingen til selveste Tate Gallery i London. Det ville derimot ikke være helt sant, ettersom kunstneren har en navnebror som døde i 2000. Ian lager små tegneserieaktige figurer og har en hyggelig og avslappet slacker-stil.
–Have you caught anything interesting here yet?
–Nah, I just got here yesterday. But I think the program is pretty solid and I'm looking forward to seeing Slayer tonight. Maybe I should go see Modest Mouse? I don't think I've heard them, but the name sort of rings a bell...
–They're great actually! Johnny Marr just joined the band on guitar.
–Oh really? That's a must then.
–What impression have you gotten of the festival so far?
–I think it looks nice. The vibe is good. I just want the rain to stop. It was kinda bothering with the obsessive security guards. I managed to sneak in an umbrella, but they came running after me as soon as I put it up. He, he. Now I'm all wet. But no worries, it's not enough to keep me from having a good time.
